Fees

“Nothing ever goes away until it teaches us what we need to know.” — Pena Chodron

Fees & Payment Information

I believe that transparency is an important part of quality care. My goal is for you to have a clear understanding of fees and payment policies before beginning services.

Complimentary Phone Consultation

15-minute consultation: No charge

This brief phone conversation gives us an opportunity to discuss what brings you to therapy, answer any initial questions, and determine whether we’re a good fit for working together.

Psychotherapy Services

  • Initial Intake Session (90 minutes): $200
  • Individual Therapy (60 minutes): $185 per session
  • Group Therapy (2 hours): $150 per session (Currently unavailable)

Additional Professional Services

Telephone consultations related to clinical matters or consultations with other healthcare professionals are billed at $15.50 per five-minute increment.

Fees for psychological assessments, evaluations, reports, and other professional services vary depending on the nature and complexity of the service. These fees will always be discussed with you in advance so there are no surprises.

Cancellation Policy

Life happens, and sometimes appointments need to be rescheduled. If you’re unable to attend a scheduled appointment, I kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice whenever possible.

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will incur a fee equal to 50% of the session fee for the first occurrence and 100% of the session fee for subsequent missed appointments.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service. I accept cash, check, and major credit cards.

Insurance:

I am an out-of-network provider who accepts private pay. However, many health insurance companies (with the exception of Medicare and Medicaid) partially or fully reimburse the services of an out-of-network licensed psychologist. I am happy to provide you with documentation of services rendered, if you are interested in requesting reimbursement from your insurance provider. Reimbursement is considered a matter between you and your insurance company. If you plan to submit a receipt to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, you should contact your plan administrator to review your out-of-network mental health benefits.
Questions to ask your insurance plan administrator include:
  • What are my out of network mental health benefits?
  • What is the allowable rate for the following CPT codes: 90791 (Psychotherapy Intake/Diagnostic Interview), 90834 (Individual Therapy Session 38-52 minutes), and 90837 (Individual Therapy session 53+ minutes)
  • What percentage of the allowable rate will you reimburse me?
  • Is there a deductible that I need to meet before I will be reimbursed?
  • How do I submit my claims for reimbursement?

Reimbursify:

Reimbursify is a service designed to help you obtain reimbursement for out-of-network services. They streamline the claims process for you and reduce errors in paperwork, so that you can receive greater reimbursement in less time. Visit Reimbursify.com for more information.

If you have questions about fees or whether my practice is the right fit for your needs, I’m always happy to discuss them during our complimentary consultation.
